We're going to discuss Chapter 1 in your text today in class.

As you probably know, we will not have this class next week because of Professional Development Days (Wednesday and Thursday). Because we will be missing class, your assignment for the following week will include the following:

Assignment for Thursday, February 2:

Read Chapters 2 & 3 (you were already assigned Chapter 2). Complete the two multiple choice exercises for these two chapters. You will hand those in at the beginning of class. Then, in class on Feb. 2, we will begin with a quiz over the material in these two hand-outs.

Common Core Standards

A Framework for the Inquiry Approach will be discussed in class today. We will also an activity practicing the inquiry approach to teaching and learning science.

Assignment for Thursday, Jan. 19th:

• Read Chapters 1 and 2 in your text.
• Complete number 5 on page 22 and numbers 3, 4, 5 and 7 on pages 38-39.
• These will be turned in at the beginning of class on Jan. 19th.
